New CD Coming Soon!

On the cutting edge of almost creating an entirely new genre of his own, Eric Nolan has taken a smooth and rich blend of new-jazz, and laced it with a double shot of neo-soul to unveil his debut, solo project, MOOD SWING. Cleveland, Ohio native, and veteran vocalist and songwriter, Eric Nolan Grant began singing at the tender age of four. During his teen years, he was a member of the Cleveland singing group, The Deltones. Eric realized at the age of nineteen that he wanted a career in music. He began his professional career singing background vocals for Dennis Edwards of The Temptations when he too launched a solo career in 1984. After several years, Eric departed to Detroit, Michigan and teamed up with songstress, Jeanie Lyles to form a duet called E & J. After spending four years in Detroit, Eric returned home to Cleveland to sing background vocals for late R&B superstar, Gerald LeVert. He toured with Eddie and Gerald LeVert during their memorable Father and Son Tour. Eric was the recipient of a Gold Record Award for his contribution as a background vocalist for the Father and Son CD. After a year of touring, Eric auditioned for and nailed a gig as a member of The Legendary O'Jays. Throughout his career, Eric has experienced the full gamut of opportunities in the entertainment world. He made his acting debut in the star-studded movie, The Fighting Temptations, and received a Gold Record Award for the movie soundtrack. He has shared the stage and the studio with some of the biggest names in the business. Eric Nolan has certainly had his share of notable television appearances and performances. The Apprentice, Oprah, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and The View are just a few. He has performed coast to coast in some of this country's largest and most popular concert venues; from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre to New York's Legendary Apollo Theatre. The awards and recognition of musical achievement for this gifted artist are numerous. In 2001, The O'Jays were nominated by the NAACP for an Image Award. In 2002, they received a Grammy Award nomination for their CD, For the Love...and, they were the recipients of the prestigious Soul Train Quincy Jones Lifetime Achievement Award. A year later, in 2003, Eric received an Honorary Doctorate of Arts Degree from Shaw University (Raleigh, NC); And then, in 2004, The O'jays were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame Foundation. Eric's biggest and most rewarding career performance to date came in 2005 at New York's Waldorf Hotel, where The O'Jays were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With the musical influences of the late Godfather of Soul, James Brown, The Jackson Five, The Temptations, and of course, The Mighty O'Jays, Eric is more than qualified, solidly poised and in the best position of his musical career to launch a successful solo project. He has begun a musical re-birth of sorts. MOOD SWING is a collection of sensual musical vibes mixed with smooth vocals and sexy lyrics all related to love. Set to be released as the CD's first single, "It Reminds Me of You", is a groovy, upbeat track, with a slight throwback appeal that you might miss if you don't listen carefully. It addresses all of the good things in life, as they relate to being in love. Audience participation will be a definite requirement during Eric's live performances of this one. "Change My World", penned by Eric Nolan himself, has a smooth and mellow vibe that speaks (with some occasional scatting) to the ultimate love fantasy. It's an arrangement with a seductive guitar and piano combination backing Eric's fluid vocals. The finale will surprise the listener...it's deeply soulful. Another track, "I Can Love You", also written by Eric Nolan, addresses the subject and proposal of a new-found love. It is sultry, full flavored and sure to be a hit among radio. The listener will truly appreciate the "pureness" of Eric's voice on this one. This vibe is absolutely unadulterated, uncut, Eric Nolan. "Gonna Love You Forever" is a melody that has a slight threat of classical influence. It addresses some of the questions and situations that we encounter with a romantic relationship. Eric gives us the answers and the solutions that we would all love to hear. The major players caressing Eric's voice are a beautiful piano accompanied by a sexy sax. Eric Nolan will undoubtedly be compared to musical greats such as Marvin Gaye and Sam Cooke. His incomparable and dynamic stage presence, jam-packed with powerful, yet silky smooth vocals, wrapped with illustrious musical arrangements and prolific songwriting will allow him to be proven as one of the most unforgettable voices in the world of music. He has and will continue to take smooth jazz vocals to a whole new level that will surely capture radio, listeners and audiences everywhere for many years and generations to come.
